Fall 2010 – “QCC Board of Directors Change Effective January 1” – The AWI QCC extends immense gratitude to Shows Leary, who will complete his term on the AWI QCC Board of Directors at the end of this year. “Shows has been a great resource to the board, and we are thankful for the time and effort he has given to furthering the QCP,” said AWI QCC Executive Director Craig Elias. Shows will continue in his role as the Q-representative responsible for conducting inspections in the northeast and Canada. |
October 2010 – Shows Leary Project Management, LLC, of Grafton, was awarded a contract for Construction Project Management services for the Greenfield Fire District’s renovation program at the Porter’s Corners fire station. The project includes site work, exterior and interior renovations. |
May 2010 – Shows Leary Project Management, LLC in Grafton was awarded a contract by the North Colonie Central School District to be the District’s Project Manager for the district wide Capital Fund and EXCEL Grant renovation projects. 10 buildings district wide will receive renovation work. Included in the project are electrical replacements, construction improvements, asbestos removal, heating replacement and safety upgrades. The project is scheduled to start in spring of 2010 and complete in the fall of 2011. |

July 2008 – Shows Leary Project Management, LLC in Grafton was awarded a contract by the Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School District to be the District’s Project Manager for 3.3 million dollar renovation project at the Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School District K-12 campus. Included in the project are ceilings replacements, asbestos removal, heating replacement and safety upgrades. The project is scheduled to start in July of 2008 and complete in the fall of 2009. |
July 2007 – Shows Leary of Shows Leary Project Management, LLC, Grafton NY, was appointed to the board of directors of the new AWI Quality Certification Corp. at its first meeting as a separate business unit of Potomac Falls, VA.-based architectural Woodwork Institute. The corporation was founded to independently administer and promote the Quality Certification Program, founded by AWI in 1996. Leary has been an inspector, regional representative and board of review member since the program’s inception. |
November 2006 – Shows Leary of Shows Leary Project Management, LLC, has been appointed The Architectural Woodwork Institute’s Quality Certification Program North American Northeast Regional Representative. Mr. Leary will provide administrative support for the Quality Certification Program’s Millwork Plant Certification Inspections and Manufactured Material Inspections. Additionally, Mr. Leary had a contract renewed for an 11th year with the Potomac Falls, VA, based Architectural Woodwork Institute’s Quality Certification Program. There are 18 individuals in North America tested and certified to perform QCP inspections. Covering Northeast North America, Mr. Leary will provide Millwork Plant Certification Inspections and Manufactured Material Inspections. |
March 2006 – For the 10th year, Shows Leary of Shows Leary Project Management, LLC, has been awarded a contract by the Potomac Falls, VA based Architectural Woodwork Institute’s Quality Certification Program. There are 16 individuals in North America tested and certified to perform QCP inspections. Covering North America, Mr. Leary will provide Millwork Plant Certification Inspections and Manufactured Material Inspections. In addition, Mr. Leary has been appointed to the following Architectural Woodwork Institute committees: Quality Standards Board of Review, Quality Certification Program Board of Review and the Architectural Woodwork Institute LEED Green Building Task Force. |
March 2006 – Shows Leary Project Management, LLC in Albany was awarded a contract by the Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School District to be the District’s project manager for 12.7 million dollar additions and renovations project at the Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School K-12 campus. Included in the project are site work, parking, classroom addition, classroom renovations, roofing, technology and mechanical upgrades. The project is scheduled to start in March of 2006 and complete in the fall of 2007. |
Fall 2005 – QCP REPRESENTATIVE SPOTLIGHT: SHOWS LEARY is the QCP representative responsible for most of New York state and parts of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Canada. A QCP representative for nearly 10 years, Mr. Leary has 35 years of experience in the construction industry. In addition to serving as a QCP rep., Mr. Leary operates a consulting firm in Albany, New York. He also serves on the AWI LEED Task Force, the QCP Board of Review and is a corresponding member of the Quality Standards Board of Review. Mr. Leary resides in Albany and holds a B.S. from the State University of New York, Brockport. |

The Quality Certification Program, headquartered in Reston, Virginia, provides contractual compliance inspections for manufactured millwork throughout North America. The Board of Review establishes procedures and policies for the Program, provides industry education about the Program and supports the Quality Certification Program representatives. Mr. Leary has been a Quality Certification Program Representative since the program’s inception in 1996. |

AIA Registered Architects are required to take credit bearing continuing education classes for career development and licensing. |
