10/14/24. Shows spends the weekend in Watkins Glen, NY. WG is featured in 2 chapters of his book, The Footless Girls Of Camp C. Shows attended the 1973 Summer Jam and details his experience there. Shows is in town on a promotional tour for his book and visits the site where he recalls he camped out on Meads Hill Road, which is nearby to the track site.

While staying nearby, as a tribute, he played most of the songs that the Grateful Dead played on their Friday night soundcheck.

What a flood of memories he had!

Since he was nearby, he stopped at the Castel Grisch Winery where a psychedelic world awaited at their famous walking park. Conceived during the Covid, the winery staff kept busy building all of the wonderfully cosmic creatures featured in the photos below. You don’t need to be tripping to appreciate this crazy scene….and he went during the day! They are about to turn on the lights for evening viewing. If you get anywhere nearby soon, it is an absolute must-see venue. Don’t forget to stop in for some wine flights.
